Now I know!

Just watched a training video for surgeons implanting a HiRes 90K implant.  If you can stand seeing bone being drilled, go to http://www.tampabayhearing.com/  and view this 12 minute clip.(Don't know if dialup folks can see it or not) You'll need to click on video, then select the first option.

I misunderstood the size of my cochlear implant.  The titanium case and magnet lie in separate places inside a plastic case so it is a long, flat oval rather than the round version they used in the past.  I've been feeling my head trying to figure out where my headpiece would go, and now I know.  Kept wondering why it was so close to my ear, but the magnet resides above the internal processor.

Here's the picture, it is on Advanced Bionic's website and they show it in the upside down position.  The plastic enclosure is 5 cm long.Hires_sys_pwrcel1
